Marcelle Johnson opened Marcel's Catering Cafe in March 1989 as a cafe and catering business. Athough the cafe was enjoyable, after five years, she decided to cater only.
After being give the green light from UNC Director John Swafford and Coach Dean Smith, UNC quickly became her #1 client.
In 2002, she was joined by her husband, Larry Prater as her catering partner. The business continued to grow.
Marcel's Catering is now a complete catering company, covering all types of events, with a very extensive menu. Each event is customized to the clients needs and budget.
